After giving birth and getting Emmalyn to cry, I got to hold her finally and try breastfeeding. It was the most amazing experience with my mom and Tom there to help. I am so glad I let my mom be in the room, She was amazing to have and her and Tom both help more than they know. Mom left to give us some family time and we spent the next two hours in skin to skin contact with tiny little Emmalyn. She was beautiful, and I am not just saying that because she is mine. I was prepared for the squishy discolored scrunchy weird looking newborns I normally see in picture, but not our daughter she came out flawless. Minus the tiny scar she gave us with breathing.
Anyway, they were finally ready to move us to the recovery room and Tommy FINALLY got to hold his beautiful daughter after waiting for two hours.
After waiting in the waiting room for what seemed like forever I am sure ( although compared to me waiting to have her) The Beeson-Cox crew couldn't wait any longer and had to get a quick peek before heading home since it was late.
So anyway We finally moved into the recovery room and I am just going to post a few pictures of the awesome family and friends that waited SOO LONG to meet and hold little Emmalyn.
Wheeling me to the recovery room with my precious daughter
My best friend Jessica has been with me through so much of my life. So was in tears seeing Emmalyn for the first time, and burst into even more tears when we asked her to be one of the Godmothers.
Grandma Womack holding her first grandchild for the very first time.
Aunt Joely " This came out of Shayna??????" Oh Joely how you make us all laugh, you are sure to be a favorite of Emmalyns.
Aunt Kylie holding her first neice! So sweet!!
Jessica again with a few less tears!!
Aunt Jenni taking the place of Aunt Tasha while she was in Europe. Thank you so much for waiting for how long with everyone. I truly consider you a sister Jenni! Love you!
Unlce Andrew came up to the hospital the very next day so excited to see his best friends new daughter. And he was only a little scared to hold her! I think he is going to be amazing with her as well!
A little out of order. My dad holding her. Such a proud proud grandpa! Thank you so much for supporting us through all of this dad. We couldn't have done it without you and mom. Love you so so much!
Well, that is the majority of what happened in Emmalyn's first 24 hours of life. I soon fell asleep ( i was in labor for 17 hours afterall) Daddy on the the other hand woke up every few minutes to Emmalyn's every moved. The next day was full of visitors and tests and Emmalyn first shots but we finally got to go home and start our life as a new little family.
I will update again soon and try and catch up on the last two months of her life. I can NOT believe Emmalyn is two months old. SO much to share.
